Saul Gutierrez is a tattoo artist based in Elk Grove, California, specializing in custom designs that transform personal stories into lasting works of art.
A multidisciplinary artist with a deep appreciation for a variety of artistic mediums including graphite, acrylic, watercolor, color pencil, digital illustration, and marker work his background in traditional art continues to influence the way he approaches tattoo design today.
Saul currently works out of a private studio where he collaborates closely with clients to translate personal stories into meaningful, one-of-a-kind artwork.
The Origin
One attempt.
No looking back.
Before entering the tattoo industry, Saul worked as a CAD designer for civil engineering firms, custom home design companies, and flooring businesses. While he enjoyed the technical side of design, his passion for art ultimately led him down a more creative path.
In 2009, Saul's cousin recognized his artistic ability and gifted him a tattoo kit, encouraging him to explore tattooing as another artistic medium. After his first attempt, he was immediately drawn to the craft and began developing his skills as a tattoo artist.
What began as a hobby quickly evolved into a lifelong passion. Today, Saul is a self-taught tattoo artist with over 14 years of experience specializing in custom pieces that incorporate watercolor, black and gray realism, and sketch-style tattoo work.
